Choosing the Right Window Shades for Privacy
Privacy can be hard to come by these days. In the era of 24-hour news cycles and social media on hand all the time, you want to rest assured that you have ample privacy in your home. That is why Creative Hands carries a range of Hunter Douglas window shades that offer privacy and create an alluring aesthetic in your home.
Roller Shades
Some spaces require privacy at certain times, but not others. Hunter Douglas Designer Roller Shades are one of the best ways to ensure you can enjoy both your views and variable privacy with easy controls. More than 350 color and fabric combinations, including opaque options, allow you to create the perfect shade for your taste and decor. We suggest upgrading to the Duolite® system for those rooms that require both room darkening and light diffusion. When paired together, shades with the Duolite® system nest an opaque or light-diffusing liner behind its existing shade fabric. When paired with Designer Roller Shades, you can also opt for this dual roller design and choose any two fabrics to hang on the same window for the most privacy and light control flexibility.
Roman Shades
Roman shades feature construction using a continuous piece of fabric, so when these shades are closed, there are no gaps that will betray your privacy. This feature is also what makes Roman shades an energy-efficient choice for your home. Carole Fabrics™ Roman Shades are available in thousands of fabrics and several styles, including front fold, reverse fold, and hobbled Roman shades. Mount your Roman shades within the window frame for a sleek, clean aesthetic or outside the frame for increased privacy and light-blocking capability. Carole Fabrics™ Roman Shades feature a standard liner to provide a consistent view from the outside, but options including room-darkening shades, are available as well.
Cellular Shades
Duette® Cellular Shades are an exceptional choice for privacy. They feature dual layers of fabric that form an internal honeycomb-like structure. This feature allows cellular shades to diffuse light gently and also provides outstanding insulation at the window. Cellular shades are available in a top-down/bottom-up design, simultaneously offering substantial privacy and natural light. Duette® Cellular Shades are available for a variety of applications, including doors, skylights, and tilt-turn windows.
Window Blinds
While not technically shades, blinds offer exceptional privacy and are an incredibly versatile window covering. There are three types of Hunter Douglas window blinds; wood, faux wood, and metal. The slats of window blinds are opaque, offering complete privacy when tilted closed. The optional de-Light™ feature eliminates cord holes to increase privacy by as much as 50% versus traditional window blinds. When privacy isn’t a need, you can fully raise window blinds to enjoy natural light and the view of the outdoors.
