Sheers shades may not work exactly like blackout shades, but there is a range of impressive features. Let us tell you about the benefits of having sheer shades in your home. Sheer window treatments, like Silhouette® Window Shadings, combine the function of blinds with the delicate beauty of the sheer fabric.
The Beauty of Sheer
Sheer shades are not only beautiful, but they are also incredibly versatile. The right shade can make your room look more elegant and glamorous, or give your space a more minimalist, casual appearance. Pirouette® Window Shadings feature flexible fabric vanes attached to a single sheer panel. When tilted, the vanes move in tandem for a graceful, fluid effect.
Sheer window shades gently diffuse light, making them a great choice for a room where you need privacy and light, like a bathroom or sitting room. Silhouette® shades have 2 fabric vanes suspended between two fabric panels. The addition of a second panel offers privacy even when you have the vanes titled open for maximum light.
UV Protection
Incoming natural light brings UV rays with it. With repeated exposure to these rays, your furnishings, artwork, and flooring will begin to discolor and fade. Even when open, the sheer shades diffuse light to keep it from directly hitting your interior items. When the vanes are tilted closed, your shades will block nearly 100% of damaging UV rays.
Vertical Sheer Shades
You can use sheer window treatments on large expanses of windows, or sliding doors, as well. Luminette® Privacy Sheers features a sheer fabric panel with vertical vanes attached to the back. The lighter weight of sheer shades means they can be hung on any window without the worry of the size making the shades too heavy. They can also be easily motorized, and even manual operation is a breeze for customers with medical issues like arthritis.
Another advantage to hanging sheer shades is the ability to combine them with heavier treatments, like traditional drapery. You can choose to keep the drapes closed when you want complete darkness and privacy or draw them back to allow in the diffused light, and enjoy the privacy afforded by sheer shades.
